Ronona J is a 6-person musical ensemble playing rock, blues, folk, country, classics, and original songs for private functions around Metrowest Boston.

Vocalist Shelley Barnes’ gorgeous soprano voice is featured in many of the band’s songs and her harmonies with keyboard player and vocalist Jennifer Weuve are simply stunning.

Providing foundations on keys, Jennifer Weuve also leads vocals on covers such as “Angel from Montgomery” (Prine) and “Tennessee Whiskey” (Dillon & Hargrove), and arranges vocal harmonies. Read more about Jennifer’s musical background here.

Rhythm guitar player Dan Brooks was inspired by the Motown sounds of his native Detroit and leads many of the band’s covers of classic rock songs from The Velvet Underground to the Rolling Stones.

Lead guitarist Greg Cohen’s encyclopedic knowledge of music is the driving force behind many of the band’s blues and rock cover songs. His bluesy baritone adds the “cool factor” to our sound.

Drummer Art Illman is inspired by drumming legends including Peter Erskine and Billy Cobham. He brings a strong musical sensibility to the rhythm section. You can hear Art playing harmonica on many songs as well.
