Special Guest Artist - Jason Giannetti

For Ronona J’s upcoming performance in Natick (details below), drummer Art Illman is being placed on injured reserve following a medical procedure that limits his drumming. Instead, Art will be moving over to play harmonica until he is medically cleared to start drumming again.

Taking Art’s place behind the drum kit is special Guest Artist Jason Giannetti. Jason has drummed for icons of the Jazz scene including Max Roach and Ron Carter. His driving percussive style will be featured on several Ronona J covers in the upcoming performance including Sweet Home Chicago and Walk of Life.

Jason attended the Manhattan School of Music and performed with the City College of New York Jazz Ensemble. For a decade, Jason drummed with the rock band American Stranger. He cites musical influences including The Who, Max Roach, and Buddy Rich. Among his favorite contemporary bands is Greta Van Fleet, the Kiszka brothers’ band that is often compared with Led Zeppelin.

Jason is a lifelong learner with advanced education and/or degrees in Music (Manhattan School of Music), English Creative Writing (Sarah Lawrence University), Philosophy (SUNY Binghamton), Theology (Harvard University), History (Brandeis), and Law (Boston College). He currently teaches law at New England School of Law.

Jason maintains an active Zen meditation practice and leads sessions from his home in Framingham, MA - mostly over Zoom (“Zoom Zen”).

Come see Jason Giannetti performing live with Ronona J, in Natick, Massachusetts at Natick Porchfest, September 24, 2022. We will be playing at 16 Chester Street from 2-4PM.
